Introduction

The official SA:MP forums are not affiliated with any one server, even if several are run by people who are also staff here. This forum allows any server (except a few rare exceptions) to advertise to the many many users found here. Our primary interest is those users - getting them the best general SA:MP experience possible, which is why we support all servers evenly in terms of coding support, client support, server support etc. We try to avoid getting in inter-server politics and do not support any internal server problems here (members banned etc). However, given that our primary user is the users themselves, not the servers, we need to protect those users from any server that may not have their best interests at heart.

This is a list of servers known to NOT hash passwords, or to use some entirely ineffective hash like Adler32 (udb_hash). They might claim this isn't a leak, but the fact that the admins can see your passwords in (as good as) plain text means they DO have a leak. Some people claim this is "only" SA:MP and not something important like a bank so it doesn't matter, but hackers ALWAYS get in through the weakest link. If, because it is "only" a SA:MP server, it doesn't hash passwords then hackers can see the plaintext, along with emails, and try the combinations out - many of them WILL work and now they are in to "more important" systems.

Note that if a server does backups, not only do they have your password but they have MULTIPLE COPIES of your password just lying about!
